What changes the price?
- Rental length. Weekly and monthly rates are much lower per day than a single day.
- Season. July, August and the Christmas to New Year period are the busiest and the most expensive.
- Bike age and condition. Newer bikes with ABS or a recent service cost more.
- What is included. Helmets, a rain poncho, delivery and a phone holder are included by some shops and charged by others.
- Deposit and insurance. A low daily price with a large deposit or no cover can cost more in the end.
How to compare two quotes properly
Ask each shop the same five questions: the total price for your dates, the deposit, whether delivery is free, what happens if the bike breaks down, and whether helmets are included. A bike that is IDR 20k cheaper per day but charges for delivery and pickup is rarely cheaper over a three-day rental.
Is it cheaper to rent by the month?
